Carrie Yury
The photographs in Carrie Yury’s “Room” series are diptychs that feature women’s bodies twisted and split between panels, and then reassembled in impossible ways. Like the magician’s lovely assistant, each of these women is sawed in half and put back together again, simultaneously displaying and disrupting the classic ideal of the female nude.
You can see more of Carries work here.
Carrie has an opening at Sam Lee gallery in Chinatown May 16th from 6-9pm.
Thanks Michelle for the link.
